Allan Hochreiter (Pty) Ltd - Introduction

Allan Hochreiter is a Johannesburg-based boutique corporate finance advisory company operating within the mining, and related resources, industries. Where appropriate, and where no conflict of interests exists, the company takes principal positions in mining, and related, projects.

The company was started by James Allan in 2005 concentrating on the diamond and coal sectors in which James had been a top rated analyst on the JSE for a number of years. In 2006, James was joined by René Hochreiter who concentrates on the platinum, and other small to mid-cap, mining sectors. René was the top rated platinum analyst on the JSE for ten consecutive years and rated number 1 small and mid-cap mining analyst for four consecutive years. Ken Greve joined Allan Hochreiter in January 2008 from BHP Billiton, Johannesburg, where he had been Vice President Strategy and Business Development.

James, René and Ken graduated together at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1982. After graduating, they were each involved in mining production: James in the coal sector, René in platinum, and Ken in coal and gold. Thereafter, James & René spent a number of years as analysts with stockbroking companies, and were then involved in investment banking and corporate finance. After leaving mining production, Ken was involved in mine and project planning, investment banking and corporate finance.

Today, Allan Hochreiter has a highly rated and experienced resource corporate finance team. The company has advised on various significant mineral transactions, including the following:-
